A new solo exhibition by collective member Bob Allen features over 20 original mixed media works. This collection offers an intimate glimpse in the artist’s world—his ideas and memories, meditations and observations—woven together in a compelling visual narrative. This year’s show includes the premiere of his nine-part Piecework Series which explores subdivision and proximity.

Allen’s work, created primarily on stretched canvas or birch panels, reflects a lifetime of experiences, blending the personal with the universal, political with the abstract, curious juxtapositions within a colorful palette. His richly detailed and immersive style incorporates figures, text, intricate patterns, found and original imagery inviting viewers into his unique reflective and storytelling realm. With a career spanning Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and now Phoenix, Allen draws from a deep well of artistic exploration.

As a longtime member of Five15 Arts Collective and a former member of Eye Lounge, Bob has been a vital part of the Phoenix art scene for several decades. His last solo exhibition at Chartreuse Gallery, Show & Tell, was met with enthusiasm and the 2026 Romeo, Whiskey, Charlie & more promises to be equally engaging. Join us for the Third Friday reception, where Allen will give an Artist Talk, offering insights into his process and the inspiration behind his work.
