PLUSH PLASTIC POP, Five15Arts’ November group exhibition is in homage and celebration of Grand Avenue's originator of quirky, colorful, funky art and art spaces, Beatrice Moore.

The members of the collective were invited to Moore's now-closed Kooky Kraft Shop on Grand Avenue to mine her large collection of vintage craft supplies. They loaded up on plastic baby doll parts, pom-poms, flowers, googly eyes and more, sparking their own creative explorations of plush, plastic, popular do-it-yourself art goods.

Each member artist is responding to the funky aesthetic that Grand Avenue embodies, thanks to Beatrice Moore. "It was such an intriguing and delightful way to expand our art practice, using materials we wouldn't have otherwise considered," said Wendy Raisanen, president of Five15Arts@Chartreuse.

Beatrice Moore has bought and imaginatively restored buildings on Grand Avenue and the surrounding streets for over 40 years, making affordable spaces available to artists and creatives. “Beatrice is the reason we have a Grand Avenue Arts District, and the gallery is here because of her vision and commitment to art and artists.”

The 13 exhibiting members of the Five15Arts collective are Bob Allen, Sheri Ashton, Daniel Friedman, Victoria Lindley, Harold Lohner, Charissa Lucille, Amy Menousek, Elissa Nowacki, Daniel Prendergast, Wendy Raisanen, Angela RoseRed, Lynda Schlosberg, and Marisa Skelpsa-Muños. Beatrice Moore will also be exhibiting artwork.
